About Mark Huggins

A passionate traveler, I've explored nearly 100 countries, seeking the unexpected in every corner, from remote rainforests to vibrant cultures. I cherish the privilege of experiencing the world firsthand.

I have been lucky to travel to almost 100 countries,  in all continents of the world, except Antarctica, which is still very much on the bucket list.

I enjoy the feeling of freedom, and the air of the unexpected that travel provides, never knowing what will be round the corner, whether that being woken in a remote Guyanese rainforest to the deafening cacophony of the Howler Monkey, or observing a rare frog that exists only on the summit of a Tepui in Venezuela , or talking cricket with enthusiastic locals on a train in India, or even an impromptu game of badminton with young monks in Bhutan. I also love to experience the local culture of countries through its cuisine, most recently for example in Georgia.

I have too many favourite places to mention, for example Marojejy National Park in North-East Madagascar, a steamy beautiful rainforest akin to a scene out of Jurassic Park, home to the Silky Sifaka one of the rarest creatures on earth. More recently trundling through Romania by train with my son laying on our sleeper beds with the window down on an early evening gazing across a golden Transylvanian landscape. Also, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda will live long in the memory for an unforgettable encounter with the Mountain Gorillas.

Travel for me is a privilege, one I will never take for granted.
